Race Report: Daytona

Rain delayed the start of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coke Zero 400 for 3 ½ hours, but the green flag for the start of the race managed to drop at Daytona International Speedway a little before midnight creating an exciting late-night battle on the 2.5-mile superspeedway.

When it finally ended in thrilling fashion just before 3 AM ET it was Denny Hamlin leading Joe Gibbs Racing with a third-place finish despite being turned from behind and setting off a massive wreck at the finish line. Both Kyle Busch and Matt Kenseth would be collected in the wreck after recovering from earlier incidents and finished 17th and 23rd respectively. Meanwhile Carl Edwards was collected in an earlier accident and had his night ended early to finish 41st.

Kyle Busch Wins Sonoma!

Kyle Busch continued his incredible comeback from an early season injury with an impressive victory in today’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. The win is crucial to Busch’s hopes of qualifying for the Chase for the NASCAR Championship. He now has the necessary victory and will be seeking a spot in the top-30 over the final 10 races leading up to the Chase field being set. He is currently 37th in the standings and 136 points out of first.

Meanwhile teammates Denny Hamlin and Matt Kenseth finished 18th and 21st respectively, while an accident left Carl Edwards back in 40th.

Race Report: Michigan International Speedway

Rain played havoc with today’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quicken Loans 400 at Michigan International Speedway causing several delays and contributing to an accident that took Kyle Busch out of the race early and left him to finish 43rd. When it finally ended it was Matt Kenseth leading Joe Gibbs Racing with a fourth-place finish, while Denny Hamlin and Carl Edwards took the checkered flag in 11th and 12th respectively.

Race Report: Pocono Raceway

Matt Kenseth led Joe Gibbs Racing with a sixth-place finish in today’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Axalta 400 at Pocono Raceway. Teammates Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin joined Kenseth in the top ten taking the checkered flag in ninth and tenth respectively, while Carl Edwards finished 15th.

Race Report: Dover

It was an afternoon of great promise at Dover International Speedway for Joe Gibbs Racing with all four teams starting today’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series FedEx 400 in the top ten. At times it appeared that all four teams would have the opportunity to hold a spot in the top ten at the finish as well, but it was not to be on this Sunday afternoon as trouble found all four teams at the Monster Mile.

In the end Carl Edwards led JGR with a 19th-place finish, while late-race accidents left Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch back in 21st and 36th respectively and a broken track bar mount placed Matt Kenseth in 39th.
